In reply to Asmodeus. Interesting. I only noticed it because for some reason the current rector at my (Episcopalian) church has retired the icons that were introduced by the previous rector, and I just noticed they were gone. And when they write icons, the halo is often inscribed. So with the icon gone, I was primed to notice stylistic similarity in the demonic binding. And a friend of mine who grew up Catholic says he noticed it right away and thought it was obvious. So, casual to the obvious observer I guess.
