After another year of development it’s pretty clear that the majority of this stuff is that Al wants Ethan, Ethan wants Al, and Ethan has a world of puritan hang-ups. Also speaking of balance of power issues, Al is Ethan’s SLAVE in effect, except that he went into this knowing it would happen. Further they’re bound at a soul level, and Al is more experienced with that kind of bond so he can “read” Ethan whilst Ethan is a bit repressed. So the situation is complicated and can’t be reduced to simple rape/shame/guilt — it’s much more complicated.

Go ahead then. If it makes you uncomfortable you can always stop reading and get on with the rest of your happy life. The author of this comic can draw/write whatever the author wants to and if the story ends up having rape in it, so be it. There’s no use in complaining about the content of the story. It is fiction and it is rated 18+ and it will probably continue to bother you whether you like it or not.
