It’s been a while since I’ve made a blog post here, and now that I have a couple things to share with you it seems like prime time for an update. Onward!
Last year I had the opportunity to create the cover art for A.H. Lee’s trilogy “The Knight and the Necromancer“, which is available in print, e-book, and audiobook!
It was fun capturing Sairis and Roland’s opposite demeanors and hinting at the feelings between them. I don’t often have the chance to apply color, so I really enjoyed working with some moody hues and bright pops of gold here and there with the stormy sky behind them. The final book looks amazing, and I’m pretty jazzed to have contributed to it! You can check it out on Amazon here and get the audiobook directly on Lee’s site here.
I’ve also been on a Lupin the Third kick for a while, so I finally created a gallery specifically for the fan art and mini comics I’ve made over the past year or so.
If you aren’t familiar with the series, all you need to know is Lupin is a thief accompanied by a gunman, a samurai, and a woman who robs him blind at every opportunity, all while being chased by arch rival Inspector Zenigata. It just recently celebrated 50 years of comics, movies, and multiple series, so all the fan art I’ve seen around inspired me to make my own. Most of my art of these gremlin crime husbands is lighthearted and goofy, but if that’s a thing you’re into, maybe check that out while you’re here!
In site news, you hopefully noticed two new navigational tricks – the Archive now displays a drop down (in both mobile and browser) that lists each chapter, and every comic page now shows the characters that appear on the page.
If you’ve ever wanted to jump to a specific chapter, it’s faster and easier to get there using the Storyline Archive menu. On the browser it appears as a drop down menu when you click on the Archive button, and in mobile browsers, each chapter is a radio button that appears under the Archive section when you tap the navigation drop down menu.
Now on every comic page in the archive, a list of characters from the page will show as links. If you click on the character name it’ll display a list of results for every comic page they appear in, which can be really useful if it’s been a while since you’ve seen a character and need a refresher on where they made their introduction and where we saw them last! Happy browsing! š
